Biography

Justin Karpinos is a 25 year-old singer/songwriter currently living in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Justin’s songwriting and voice are reminiscent of James Taylor, Jay Clifford (of Jump, Little Children), and Martin Sexton. His lyrics evoke compelling scenes and specific images that strive to connect with the listener on an emotional level beyond typical pop music clichés.

In May 2006, Justin released Flyover, his first solo record. Flyover was engineered and produced by Marc Lacuesta (a Nashville engineer whose vast recording credits include Allison Krauss, Neil Young, Sara Evans, Jars of Clay, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), and by Mike Garrigan, founder of the critically-acclaimed rock band Collapsis, and member of Athenaeum.

In the fall of 2005, before his first record was even completed, Justin was nominated for two Chattanooga Independent Artist Awards.

In June 2006, Justin was invited to sit in at Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café with Grammy Award-winning songwriter Marcus Hummon (whose songwriting credits include the hit songs “Bless the Broken Road,” “Ready to Run,” “Born to Fly,” and “Cowboy Take Me Away”).

Justin has also shared the stage with Bill Mallonee, David Spencer, Samantha Murphy, and Jennifer Daniels. He is a Featured Artist for Eastman Guitars.
